projects. Stuart
Baker Software is a registered Web Presence Developer (WPD) for Microsoft
FrontPage. We can provide anything from minor improvements for your existing Web
site to a complete turnkey solution. We can help you choose an Internet Presence
Provider (IPP) and guide you through the process of selecting and registering
your domain name. We can then develop a web site for you in a timely and cost
effective manner. We also have the ability to program in PHP, a server-side HTML
embedded scripting language. Programming in PHP allows us to utilize the MySQL
database, greatly expanding the capabilities of your web site. In addition, we
can develop Java applets or applications to your specifications.
We recommend developing web sites that offer a cookie-free environment (we do use session cookies with PHP), but we realize the lack of cookies prevents the site from being personalized. We will not use "web bugs" or any other invisible, underhanded information gathering techniques in any web site development. Photo Gallery by Stu and Doris contains a growing collection of our
pictures. I developed this site almost entirely in PHP. It uses the PHP
session variables to implement a uniform set of navigation buttons on all of
the pages used to view photographs. By using session variables, each user
has his own set of variables, so the web site can keep track of the pictures
that have been viewed. This allows you to move between galleries,
and when you return to a gallery, you receive the exact thumbnail display
that existed when you left. This site also uses PHP to dynamically generate
the gallery navigation thumbnails, allowing the addition of new galleries
without needing to modify all of the supporting pages. The maintenance page
login uses SSL and a MySQL database to grant access to private galleries and
maintenance functions. Play around with the site for a while and you will
get a feel for what I can accomplish with PHP and SQL. |

The ScrollText Java applet scrolls a user supplied text string across the applet window. It allows selection of the font name, style and size as well as colors and speed of motion. You can also define the width and color of a 3D border around the applet window. |
