U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE Mr. Stuart Baker Stuart Baker Software Dear Stuart, I wish to formally thank you for outstanding technical service and support. Thank you for spending many long hours to assist in troubleshooting a problem with Compaq Deskpro 4000 Model 5166 hardware and serial data transfer interruptions -- a problem resolved as not having anything to do with your PC-Passport software. Thank you for patiently working with me to demonstrate and reproduce the problem at your facility and for discussing the problem in detail with Compaq engineering. Your efforts were above and beyond the call of duty. It is important that you know what your software means to the National Weather Service and how it will be used. Let me describe this in further detail. 292 Deskpro 4000s are being installed with your software at Model WSR-88D Doppler radar sites located in 146 cities in the United States, Japan, Korea, and the Azores. The radars are known as NEXRAD. You've probably seen the weather data derived from these radars on your local TV news. If not, the next time you see the word NEXRAD, you will know that the weather data and radar equipment is being monitored and controlled with Deskpros using your software. These radars are supported by the Department of Commerce, the Department of Defense, and the Department of Transportation. Your software provides for a reduction in NEXRAD radar down time and an increase in personnel safety. Sincerely, Christina Ostrander Return to IndexThis SBSW.COM page has been optimized for printing. |
